Fayetteville man arrested, charged with rape

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Fayetteville detectives have arrested a man in connection with a January rape, police said.

Joseph Morrison, 44, of the 900 block of Country Club Drive, is charged with attempted second-degree rape, second-degree sex offense and first-degree kidnapping, according to Fayetteville police.

The suspect was an acquaintance of the victim, police said.

Morrison was arrested peacefully at his residence, police said. He’s being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $75,000 secured bond, according to police.
