FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Fayetteville police released images and a short video on Monday night of a masked suspect involved in an armed robbery and employee shooting at a Domino’s last week.
Police responded to a business robbery call just after 2:30 a.m. Thursday at the Domino’s located at 596 N. Reilly Road.
A preliminary investigation shows that two employees were standing outside the store, which was closed, while a third employee was inside when an unknown man with a gun came from the side of the building and forced the employees inside.
The suspect was armed and wearing a dark hoodie and jeans, police said.
An image from police on Monday shows the “dangerous” suspect was wearing a “Halloween style mask,” police said.
Once inside the Domino’s, the man demanded money from the safe and employees while threatening them with a gun. During the course of the robbery, the suspect shot one of the victims because he “felt his demands were not being met,” police said in a release.
The suspect then fled the area. Police are unsure if he fled on foot or in a vehicle.
A 34-year-old male worker was shot in the leg and transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and has since been discharged.
“The suspect in the video may be associated with other criminal offenses in our city and we are encouraging anyone who may know the suspect, to call detectives,” police said Monday in an email.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery investigation is asked to contact Detective J. Lewis with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 703-9503 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
