Silver Alert issued for NC teen girl missing a week

SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) – The Southport Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing teenager.

According to Sgt. Kevin Long with the Southport Police Department, Gabrielle Ryman, 15, was last seen at her residence at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 415 West West Street in Southport.

The clothing Gabrielle was wearing is unknown, but she did take a toothbrush and makeup kit.

Gabrielle had a GPS monitor, but turned it off and may be in the Long Beach Road area of Southport, Long said.

If officials find someone is harboring Ryman, they could face charges such as resisting, obstructing, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, police said.

Ryman is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other form of cognitive impairment.

A Silver Alert was issued for the teen Tuesday morning.
