Woman arrested in Moore Co. hit-and-run

TAYLORTOWN, N.C. (WNCN) — Police have arrested a West End woman in the hit-and-run collision that injured a 50-year-old Taylortown woman in September, the Aberdeen Times reports.

Jaimey Nicole Dowd, 36, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury, failure to report an accident and felony hit-and-run resulting in serious injury or death, the paper reported.

Belinda Morrison was hit Sept. 13 and is still recovering from her injuries, but is expected to make a full recovery, according to the Aberdeen Times.

Dowd was taken to the Moore County Detention Center in Carthage. Her bond was set at $25,000 secure. She is scheduled to be in court Oct. 31.
