FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Federal and local officials, along with Domino’s Pizza, are offering a reward in the shooting and robbery at a Domino’s Pizza in Fayetteville in October.
The incident happened on Oct. 13 around 2:30 a.m. when a man in what appeared to be a Hillary Clinton mask shot a worker during the robbery at 596 N. Reilly Road in Fayetteville.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Fayetteville-Cumberland Crimestoppers Board and Domino’s Pizza said Wednesday that they are offering an $8,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the man.
Fayetteville police released images and a short video on Oct. 14 of the suspect involved in the incident, which is now also being investigated by the ATF.
A preliminary investigation shows that two employees were standing outside the store, which was closed, while a third employee was inside when an unknown man with a gun came from the side of the building and forced the employees inside, police say.
The suspect was armed and wearing a dark hoodie and jeans, police said.
An image from police on Monday shows the suspect was wearing a Halloween mask that appears to be of Hillary Clinton.
Once inside the Domino’s, the man demanded money from the safe and employees while threatening them with a gun. During the course of the robbery, the suspect shot one of the victims because he “felt his demands were not being met,” police said in an email.
The suspect then fled the area. Police are unsure if he fled on foot or in a vehicle.
A 34-year-old male worker was shot in the leg and transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and has since been discharged.
“The suspect in the video may be associated with other criminal offenses in our city and we are encouraging anyone who may know the suspect, to call detectives,” police said Monday in an email.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery investigation is asked to contact Detective J. Lewis with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 703-9503 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
