CENTRAL, S.C. (WSPA)- A man from Central is facing child abuse charges after deputies say he fractured his 4-month-old son’s skull.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Nicholas Kyle Brown Thursday.

Deputies say a local hospital notified them about suspicious injuries found on an infant.

Investigators say the infant had multiple injuries including skull fractures, multiple broken ribs and a broken arm.

A forensic examination showed that the abuse occurred over a period of time.

Brown is charged with abuse/inflicting great bodily injury to a child and was given a $40,000 bond.

Deputies say two other children in the home, ages 1 and 4, were placed into foster care.

The 4-month-old has also been placed into foster care and continues to recover.

They say his injuries are not life threatening.
