Two other people, Andy Nunez, 22, and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Daniela Cruz of La Vergne, were arrested on Friday in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Authorities say the three had a hand in the Sept. 25 murder of Teddy Grasset. He was visiting Nashville from California with a friend and was killed in an attempted robbery on Fourth Avenue South near Demonbreun Street.

Metro police said that Grasset and a friend were walking down Fourth Avenue toward Korean Veterans Boulevard when a gray Chevrolet Impala, owned by Santillan, pulled up behind them and two men got out of the car. The driver remained inside the vehicle.

According to police, one of the suspects fired a shot and hit Grasset, who was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died. The second victim was not injured.

Police were able to identify the suspects after they received a citizen’s tip.

Both Nunez and Cruz are currently being held in the Wake County jail in North Carolina.

Santillan had previously been arrested by Metro police for aggravated robbery on Oct. 4, 2012. He was convicted on a lesser charge of robbery in March 2015 and received a six-year sentence.

He was out on parole at the time of shooting.
