Man shot in Fayetteville home after 4 armed men force their way inside, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A man is in serious condition after being shot in his home Monday night during a home invasion by four armed men, police said.

Detectives identified the victim as 57 year-old Lonnie Jackson of the 900 block of Waterless St.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m., Fayetteville Police said in an email.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that four unknown male subjects forced open the front door to the home while armed with handguns,” police said.

“The suspects confronted the victim inside of the home and then shot him as they fled from the scene.”

The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and was in serious condition, according to police.

No description information of the suspects was released by police.
