CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — University police warned UNC Chapel Hill students about a fox that was sighted recently on campus.
The UNC Public Safety department said on Twitter that there were reports of a fox with matted fur being seen on campus.
In the fox Tweet, campus police also included two documents that were about foxes, including one titled “Preventing conflicts with foxes.”
Police said that the fox is “not thought to be a danger.”
Foxes are among the four wild animals that are most likely to have rabies, according to the CDC.
