23-year-old man hit by car, killed in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A 23-year-old man died after being hit by a vehicle Thursday night, Raleigh police said.

According to police, Darius Deon Ferebee was walking in the 1400 block of Rock Quarry Road around 7:15 p.m. when he was hit by a man driving a 1997 Ford sedan southbound on the road.

Ferebee was seriously injured in the collision. Police said he was not walking in the designated crosswalk when he was hit.

Andre Quentin Bizzell’s sedan was traveling at the posted speed limit of 45 mph when it hit Ferebee, sending him nearly 80 feet from the point of impact, a wreck report states.

On November 2, Raleigh police said Ferebee died from his injuries.

Bizzell, of Wake Forest was cited for non-related motor vehicle violations and for having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.
