Rhode Island woman forced to fend off gun-toting clowns

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Providence woman was forced to fend off some unusual attackers Tuesday night.

It happened at her home on Ayrault Street in the Smith Hill section of the city.

Providence police said three men in clown masks showed up at the woman’s home around 9:45 p.m. and were calling her name.

She opened the door to see who was yelling and was then attacked, according to the police report obtained by Eyewitness News.

The victim told police one of the men had a gun and they pushed her to the ground.

The report states “the three males began assaulting her and one male bit the back of her left arm as she fought them off and kicked one of the male subjects in his genitals.”

As the woman struck back at her attackers, police said she told them “one of the subjects stated in Spanish, ‘Hey, someone called the police. Yoshi, let’s get out of here.’”

The men took off in a small silver two-door vehicle, but one left his clear clown mask behind; which police took as evidence along with a baseball hat.

Police are still looking for the suspects described as a heavyset man who was wearing a white mask, a dark-skinned man in the clear clown mask and a man who was wearing a white mask with fake hair on top.
