HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Police have accused a Hillsborough man of robbing two people who tried to buy iPhone 7s from him.
Jermarise Dejuan Bolden, 25, of 101 Sherwood Lane, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, town officials said. The robbery took place Oct. 22 at the Ashford Lakes Apartments, according to authorities.
The victims said they arranged through through the mobile phone app OfferUp to buy two iPhone 7s, according to Hillsborough officials.
But when they arrived to conduct the deal, they were met by a gunman, who robbed them of a combined $1,200, plus an iPhone 5c, officials said.
Bolden was taken to the Orange County Jail with a $25,000 secured bond, a Hillsborough news release said.

Hillborough police advise people purchasing items from people they don’t know to use public locations for the deals. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office at 106 E. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, is a designated spot for that purpose.
