SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (WNCN) — One person was hurt in a drive-by shooting in Southern Pines on Wednesday night.
The Moore County Sheriff’s Office says the incident was reported around 7:30 p.m. at a home along South Carlisle Street in Southern Pines.
Many bullet casings were seen on the ground along South Carlisle Street and a man was hurt in the incident, officials told the Aberdeen Times.
The drive-by shooting happened at a home near the intersection of South Carlisle Street and Illinois Avenue. The man who was injured was taken to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Police say they’re looking for a white or silver SUV with out-of-state tags. No other suspect description information was available.
Earlier reports of multiple injuries were incorrect, according to the Aberdeen Times. Southern Pines Police are taking the lead into the investigation.
The shooting comes less than a week after a girl died and a toddler boy was wounded in a drive-by shooting along West Michigan Avenue.
Police are not sure if the latest shooting is connected to a Friday shooting in which Jalinda Campbell, 12, died and Kyleigh Graham, 3, was hospitalized and underwent surgery.
Montice Tyree McManus, 16, of Southern Pines, was arrested Sunday and charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
