Pedestrian struck by car, seriously injured in Carrboro; driver charged

CARRBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — A Durham driver is charged with failure to yield causing serious bodily injury after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Carrboro on Friday, police said.

Carrboro police charged Ma Concepcion Santos, 28, after a pedestrian was hit on North Greensboro Street just south of its intersection with Hillsborough Road at about 3 p.m., according to police.

The pedestrian was seriously injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
