Teen arrested in Chapel Hill Pizza Hut robbery

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) – A 17-year-old faces felony charges after being arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a Chapel Hill Pizza Hut on October 20.

Anthony Leon McClary was arrested Thursday morning in Durham after being identified by Chapel Hill police as one of two suspects who robbed the business.

McClary was charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy to commit robbery, and misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun.

He is being held at the Orange County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond.

Police said McClary and another suspect walked into the Pizza Hut at Rams Plaza on N. Fordham Boulevard just before 10 a.m. and demanded money.

One suspect had a gun while the other implied he was armed, police said.

They took more than $500.

No other information was released.
