MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Based on the preliminary investigation, a shooting that hurt five people at a Myrtle Beach nightclub appears to be gang related, according to Lt. Joey Crosby with the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
Crosby said the shooting at about 2:30 a.m. at the Pure Ultra Club appeared to target one person. The other four who were shot were bystanders, he said.
One of the people hurt was treated at the club. Three others were treated and released from a local hospital. The fifth shooting victim was a the hospital getting treatment, Crosby said at 10 a.m. That victim’s condition was not released.
Investigators were interviewing witnesses overnight to help them track down the suspected shooter.
Crosby said officer have developed a person of interest, and warrants were being pursued Saturday morning.
