Trump rushed off stage in Nevada after fight breaks out in crowd

RENO, Nevada (CBS News) — Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump was rushed off the stage by Secret Service at a campaign rally in Reno, Nevada on Saturday.

It’s unclear if there was a threat or something else caused Trump to be led off stage.

CBS News producer Arden Farhi said it all happened very quickly, but there was a commotion near the podium before the incident.

The Associated Press reported a fight broke out in the crowd close to the podium seconds before Trump was rushed away and that several security officials escorted a man out of the venue soon afterward.

Fights then started breaking out in the crowd, a CBS News producer Tweeted.

Trump returned to the stage shortly afterward, and said “nobody said it was going to be easy for us. But we will never be stopped. Never, ever be stopped.”

He thanked the Secret Service and then returned to his speech.

The Reno rally was a last-minute trip to the swing state. It was his third rally on Saturday in the last, long weekend before Election Day.
