Teens nabbed after handgun and other items stolen from Goldsboro home

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — Two teens were arrested after nearly $3,000 worth of items — including a handgun — were stolen from a Goldsboro home during a burglary in August, deputies say.


The incident happened on August 22 at a Goldsboro home in eastern Wayne County when a man reported a burglary, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said in an email.

Items stolen included a handgun, electronics, and tools which had a value of $2.865.

“The handgun, some of the electronics and tools were located in pawn shops in Wilson and Goldsboro,” deputies said.

Jiel Devon Artis, 19, of Stirrup Drive in Greensboro and Jamiah Brianna Uzzell, 18, of Atsur Place in Goldsboro were charged with felony breaking and or entering, felonious larceny after breaking and or entering and felony possession of stolen goods/property.

Deputies said that they expect to arrest another person in the case.

Artis and Uzzell are being held on $10,000 unsecured bonds.
