FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman crashed her SUV into a drug store in Fayetteville on Wednesday afternoon, police say.
The incident happened around 5 p.m. at the CVS store at 522 Owen Drive, Fayetteville Police said in a statement.
The crash happened when the driver “missed the brake pedal and hit the gas pedal,” said police spokesman Shawn Strepay.
A 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV driven by Ruby Willis, 66, went forward and crashed into the CVS “causing significant damage,” Strepay said.
The SUV went a couple of feet into the store, causing several product shelves to fall over and destroying some merchandise, according to a photo from police.
No one was hurt in the incident.
Willis was charged with failure to reduce speed as necessary to avoid a collision.
