Woman struck by train in Fayetteville, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman was taken to the hospital after being struck by a train about 9:30 p.m. Friday on the rail line along Winslow Street in Fayetteville, according to police.

Police believe witnesses found the injured woman and immediately called 911.

The train was no longer there when officers got to the scene near Winslow’s intersection with Blount Street, Fayetteville police said.

The woman was alert when she was found, but her injuries are believed to be life-threatening, according to police. She was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
