All crews in NC county called to assist in large chicken house fire


HAMPTONVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) —  A chicken house that caught fire Sunday in North Carolina required all crews in the county to help fight the blaze, reports say.

The fire broke out after 1:30 p.m. in Yadkin County at 1432 Johnson Branch Road in Hamptonville, according to reports and WGHP-TV.

A photo Tweeted from the West Yadkin Fire Department showed the blaze was fully involved by 1:55 p.m.

Yadkin County EMS Director Keith Vestal told the TV station that all Yadkin County fire crews were assisting in the massive fire.

In Google satellite images, two large chicken houses can be seen at the farm, which is near the US 421 and I-77 interchange.

According to WGHP, there were no reports of injuries.
