Man charged with kidnapping, assaulting 2 victims with an ashtray, Goldsboro police say

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — A man has been arrested after assaulting two people with an ashtray and holding them hostage inside their home, Goldsboro police said.

The incident happened on Nov. 11 at a home in the 500 block of Wayne Avenue, police said. Two victims reported they were assaulted with an ashtray by Anthony Dwayne Jackson and forced to stay in their home. Jackson was armed with a knife, police said.

Eventually, the victims were freed and transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Following an investigation, Jackson was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and two counts of first-degree kidnapping.

Jackson was placed in the Wake County Jail under a $300,000 secured bond.
