NC veterans receive free IT training to ease transition from military to civilian jobs

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — U.S. military veterans are receiving IT training at no cost this week in Raleigh.

This week, North Carolina veterans will have the opportunity thanks to IBM and Corporate America Supports You, a nonprofit organization.

The training will help veterans transition their military experience into high-skilled jobs and it will provide hands-on training, certification and job placement assistance.

“I think stuff like this is very important set of workshops, especially at locations like this. Number one, we’re familiar with it. Number two, a lot of times training is provided at a discount or free. By making it available and obtainable- I think that’s the biggest benefit,” said Ronald Valenzuela with the National Guard.

More than 400 veterans around the nation will participate in this program this year.
