Fayetteville man charged with rape, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A Fayetteville man has been charged with attempted first-degree rape and second-degree rape, according to police.

The charges stem from a Nov. 4 incident, the Fayetteville Police Department said.

Lamarcus Childress, 33, of the 3400 block of McChoen Drive, Fayetteville, was an acquaintance of the victim, police said.

Childress was arrested without incident and taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $250,000 secured bond, police said.
