Fayetteville police make arrest in shooting, robbery on Blake Street

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery following a card game on Blake Street early Tuesday.

Several people were taking part in a card game in a residence in the 1900 block of Blake Street during the early morning hours Tuesday. Some at the residence left once the card game was over, police said.

Around 6:40 a.m., an armed person entered the home and robbed one person of person property. A resident was shot in the leg, police said.

The shooting victim ran to a neighboring residence and was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The shooting victim is listed in good condition, police said.

Vicara Davis, of Fayetteville has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, two counts robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts possession of stolen goods, larceny of motor vehicle, and possession of stolen vehicle.

Davis is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $145,000 secured bond.
