RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A Newton Grove man has been arrested and charged with holding two adults with the intent of putting them into sexual slavery in Wake County, arrest records show.
Michael Dwain Sanders, 36, is facing two charges of human trafficking adult victim and one charge of second-degree kidnapping.
Records show that Sanders held and transported two people over the age of 16 with the intent that they be “held in sexual servitude.”
Sanders kidnapped one person, confined them without their consent, and intended to traffic them so that the victim could be a sex slave, according to records.
Sanders is also accused of “knowingly and in reckless disregard of the consequences…entic[ing] and transport[ing]” another victim with the intent that the victim “be held in sexual servitude.”
He is being held in the Wake County Detention Center on a $1,001,000 secured bond.
