GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) – Several law enforcement agencies joined forces on Friday to raid and search a Wayne County motel.
The raid took place at the Irish Inn located at 1104 Sunburst Drive in Goldsboro.
The raid was a result of an investigation, dubbed “Operation Sleepless Nights” that had been going on for approximately three months.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Ace Team initiated the investigation and was joined by members of the Goldsboro Police Department Drug Unit. The two units worked together to obtain the information that allowed them to secure search warrants on approximately 10 rooms.
The target of the search warrants were several different types of illegal narcotics and guns.
Two people were cited for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Nathan Hales Faison, 53, of 1104 Sunburst Drive, Room 233 was charged with one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and is being held on $5,000 secured bond.
During the raid, marijuana, crack cocaine, prescription medication, 2 firearms and U.S. Currency was seized. The investigation is continuing and further charges are possibly pending.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Goldsboro Police Department were assisted by the Wayne and Johnston County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A. T. Teams, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Special Operations Group and other ALE Agents along with the Wayne County Department of Social Services and Wayne Emergency Medical Services.
