RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Raleigh Rescue Mission is again offering its White Flag program to shelter those with nowhere to to go during cold temperatures.

The mission offers the program when temperatures dip below 38 degrees. Temperatures are expected to fall below that mark Monday and Tuesday nights.

The mission will shelter as many people as it can and help those who don’t come in with frostbite or other weather-related problems, the group said in a news release.

“For many years we have partnered with other agencies in Wake County to shelter men, women and children during extreme weather conditions,” said Lynn Daniell, the mission’s executive director. “We will pull out additional mats and blankets and as we always do to ensure that those in need feel welcomed and comfortable on these cold winter nights.”

The mission said these are the most-needed items:

  • men’s, women’s and children’s coats (adult XL or larger coats most needed)
  • toboggan-style knit hats
  • thermal Gloves
  • scarves
  • thermal socks
  • hand Warmers
  • full Sized Blankets
  • sleeping bags

More information is available at the group’s donation page.
