UPDATE: At 8:38 p.m. Tuesday, police announced the road had reopened.
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A water main break has closed the inbound lanes of Raleigh’s Capital Boulevard near Fairview Road, police said.
City officials announced Monday evening that repairs are expected to be completed by 9 p.m. Tuesday. Motorists should plan accordingly, police said.
Traffic is being diverted to Atlantic Avenue.
The flow of water was stopped not long after the water main broke, but the damage was more serious than officials first believed.
