FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A Fayetteville man is being held on a bond exceeding $1 million while facing child sex charges, police said.
Bert Alexander Braddock Jr., 37, of the 700 block of Moriston Road in Fayetteville is facing several charges after an investigation by the Fayetteville Police Department’s Youth Services Unit, officials say.
Braddock was known to the 11-year-old girl victim at the time of the offenses which happened on multiple occasions earlier in 2016, according to Fayetteville Police.
Charges against Braddock include first degree forcible rape, first degree sexual offense, two counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of child abuse sexual act, officials said.
Braddock was apprehended in Bladen County without incident.
He is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $1,025,000 secured bond.
