DALLAS, N.C. (WBTV) – A Gaston County teacher has been charged with indecent liberties with a student after investigators say a relationship was reported between the two.
Stewart Oakley Rice, 23, was arrested Tuesday and booked in the Gaston County jail.
The arrest comes after Gaston County Police told WBTV they were investigating a possible inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a student.
According to the school’s website, Rice is a History teacher at North Gaston High. WBTV has reached out to the school district multiple times about the investigation, but has not heard back.
Rice is being held on a $25,000 bond.
