Athens Drive teacher facing sex charge, officials say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — An Athens Drive High School teacher has been charged with a “sex act with a student” in connection with his time teaching in Henderson County, according to authorities.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office tells CBS North Carolina that a warrant to arrest Devon Lategan, of 129 Warm Wood Lane, Apex, was obtained today after a long investigation.

According to arrest records, the sex act happened in June.

The sheriff’s office said Lategan used to teach at West Henderson High School.

His bond has been set at $50,000.
