CONCORD, N.C. (WBTV) – A second teen has been arrested in the burglary of Bass Pro Shop in Concord, police announced Friday.
The burglary happened sometime before 5 a.m. last Friday. According to the police report, three 12-gauge shotguns and five rifles were stolen after someone smashed a store window to get inside.
Daquan Amad Erwin, 17, and Vaque Lashawn Davis, 18, were both arrested in the case. Concord police believe the pair also broke into the Chola’s Indian Grill on Weddington Road the same night of the Bass Pro Shop break-in.
The day after the burglary, Erwin was involved in a SWAT situation at the Days Inn on W Sugar Creek Road.
The incident began around 8:30 p.m. at the Days Inn when officers located a vehicle believed to be involved in the Bass Pro Shop burglary, where $5,000 worth of firearms was stolen.
Police saw two people standing near the vehicle, but the duo went inside a room when the officers attempted to make contact with them. When the suspects refused to come out, SWAT was called and a short standoff ensued.
Around 10 p.m., officers said the two suspects and a third person found in the room surrendered and were taken into custody.
Erwin has been charged with felony breaking and entering and eight counts of felony larceny of a firearm. Davis was charged with felony breaking and entering and eight counts of felony larceny of a firearm.
