CERRO GORDO, N.C. (WECT) – An Asheboro woman died as a result of a wreck Sunday in Columbus County.
According to Trooper Connor with the State Highway Patrol, Laura Lisk, 22, died after being airlifted to Grand Strand Medical Center.
The wreck took place just after 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Rough N Ready and Dolph Lewis roads just south of Cerro Gordo.
According to Trooper Connor, a 2007 Chevy pickup was traveling east on Rough N Ready Road when an 2012 Honda Accord driven by Lisk traveling north on Dolph Lewis Road pulled out in front of the truck and was hit.
An 82-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Accord and the driver of the truck were both taken to Columbus Regional Medical Center.
No charges will be filed in the wreck, Trooper Connor said.
