GATLINBURG, Tenn. (MEDIA GENERAL) — Tennessee officials confirmed on Friday that 13 people are now confirmed dead following this week’s wildfires in Sevier County.
Six of the victims have been identified so far.
Two of the victims had dual Canadian/American citizenship, and at least one of the dead was a full-time resident in Gatlinburg.
The average age of the six victims so far identified was 68.
At least two married couples died together in the fire.
A number of their bodies were found in the area of Chalet Village.
