3 arrested in Goldsboro after drugs, stolen gun found in car

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — A Goldsboro man and two Florida men were arrested after drugs and a stolen gun were found in their vehicle following a traffic stop, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jermaine Antonio Godard, 30, of Goldsboro, Tyre Jaquan Newkirk, 21, of Lakeland, Florida, and Charles Edward Fryar Jr., 24, of Lakeland, Florida were arrested after the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop at James Street and Workman Street in Goldsboro on Dec. 2 and found drugs and a stolen gun.

According to authorities, cocaine, marijuana, paraphernalia used in the packaging and distribution of controlled substances, and a stolen firearm were found in the vehicle during a search.

Godard was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by felon, possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked, open container of alcohol, and expired tags. He is being held in Wayne County Jail under a $30,000 secured bond.

Newkirk and Fryar were both charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and are being held in Wayne County Jail under a $3,000 secured bond each.
