FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A man suspected of burglarizing a home in Fayetteville was caught in the act by Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office deputies Sunday night.
A woman returned to her home around 9:40 p.m. and found a man, identified as 51-year-old Hope Mills man Brian Clayton, rummaging through her jewelry box. The woman left her home and called 911. According to officials, deputies arrived at the home minutes later and found Clayton in the bathroom where they then arrested him.
Clayton now faces charges of second-degree burglary, larceny, and possession of stolen property.
He is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond.
