FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A Fayetteville man was charged with attempted murder after another man and two houses were hit by gunfire last week.
The incident happened around 7:48 p.m. Thursday along the 5200 block of Catalpa Road, Fayetteville police said in an email.

During the shooting, Jonathan Fernandez, 33, who lives in that block of Catalpa Road, was seriously injured and is still being hospitalized Monday evening, police said.
On Monday, police said they arrested Morgan Terrell Purcell, 33, of the 6400 block of Rebecca Drive in Fayetteville.
Purcell is charged with attempted first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill/inflicting serious injuries.
Purcell is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $150,000 secured bond.
