RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Two people were hurt while driving and seven vehicles were damaged when someone threw rocks at them Tuesday night in Raleigh.
The incidents happened just after 10 p.m. in the area of Hickory Grove Church Road or Leesville Road and were similar to incidents that also happened in mid-August, Raleigh police said in an email.
“…rocks and perhaps other objects were thrown at their vehicles,” police said.
The injured drivers were hurt by broken glass and were treated at the scene by EMS. In Tuesday night’s incidents, one vehicle sustained $3,000 in damage.
A teen whose car was hit by one of the rocks now is unable to drive the vehicle, she says.
“(It) broke, like, the multiple layers of my windshield there is holes in my windshield now. That’s one of the reason’s I can’t drive it, because I don’t want the whole thing to fall in on me,” said Britton Wheeless, 17, whose car was hit while she was driving home.
Police said similar instances happened overnight on Aug. 15-16.
