LADSON, S.C. (WNCN) — South Carolina deputies searching for a man wanted for receiving stolen goods found him recently, along with stolen guns, drugs and an alligator, officials said.
Deputies were tipped that Robert Lee Moore, 29, was at a property on Atlanta Road in Ladson, S.C., according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office. They found him, hiding under a bed, deputies said.
Atop the same bed was an AR-15 rifle with an obliterated serial number, according to the sheriff’s office. That gun later turned out to have been stolen in North Charleston, officials said.
Deputies then got a warrant to search the rest of the home. That search turned up a pistol stolen from Berkeley County, a shotgun stolen from Florida, a tablet computer stolen from St. Louis,13 grams of methamphetamine, a stolen motorcycle and an 30-inch alligator, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Moore was taken to the Hill Finklea Detention center, officials said. New charges have been filed and more are expected, the sheriff’s office said, though exactly what those charges are wasn’t immediately clear.
