Durham police seek public’s help solving November slaying

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Durham police are asking the public to help them figure out who shot a 24-year-old man Nov. 29 as he unloaded groceries from his car.

Cesar Yañez-Ortiz was shot and killed in the parking lot of Willowdaile Apartments in the 3800 block of Guess Road, police said.

As Yañez-Ortiz was getting the groceries at about 11:15 p.m., a man approached him and a brief struggle ensued, police said. Yañez-Ortiz was shot and killed.
