RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A Wake County man charged in the double killing at a Raleigh hotel last week is also now charged in an October rape and robbery of a Kentucky woman.
Seaga Edward Gillard, 28, is charged with murder in the December 2 death of April Lynn Holland, 22, who was found shot to death at the America’s Best Value Inn on Arrow Drive.
Warrants issued Tuesday show Gillard has also been charged with first-degree forcible rape, first-degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation, first-degree forcible sex offense and robbery with a dangerous weapon stemming from an October 28 incident in Morrisville.
Warrants say Gillard used a phone cord to choke a Kentucky woman during a sexual assault.
Gillard also used a handgun to rob the woman of her wallet, cell phone, ID and $200, warrants show.
Gillard was arrested December 3 in connection with Holland’s death. He is being held at the Wake County Detention Center.
Police said Holland and 28-year-old Dwayne Garvey were shot to death in at the hotel near Crabtree Valley Mall.
Raleigh police are looking for 29-year-old Brandon Xavier Hill in connection with Garvey’s death.
Hill led officers on a chase that began on I-540 in Raleigh around 3 a.m. December 3 and ended when he jumped out of the vehicle and ran in Durham County, officials said.
