GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) – A Goldsboro man is being held on $3.5 million bond after he was charged with sex crimes including incest with a child and first-degree rape, police said.
Matthew Gordon Williams, of Stevens Mill Road in Goldsboro was at the center of a sexual abuse investigation that began January 4.
A Wayne County Sheriff’s Office detective conducted interviews with the victim and family members that led to the arrest of Williams.
He was charged with:
- First-degree sexual offense of a child
- Indecent liberties with a child
- Three counts incest with a child
- First-degree rape
- Statutory rape/sex offense
- Assault on a female
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said the offenses occurred over a three-year period.
Williams is being held at the Wake County Detention Center under $3.5 million bond.
