Police seeking driver who killed man in Butner, drove off

BUTNER, N.C. (WNCN) — Butner police are asking the public to help them catch a driver who killed a man in a hit-and-run accident in Butner Dec. 4.

Charles Wesley Harden, 67, of 600 East B Street, Butner, was hit and killed on East B Street, police said.

Police have released images of the vehicle they believe hit the man, a blue, four-dour car. Police said the vehicle might have damage to the passenger side, including a possibly missing passenger-side window.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police at (919) 575-6561 ext. 111, (919) 575-6561 ext. 103 or Crime Stoppers at (919) 693-3100.

Officials said there’s a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the driver.
