VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Virginia Beach say two juveniles have been arrested in connection with seven recent shootings, two of which resulted in fatalities.
Police on Saturday said detectives received anonymous tips of possible suspect information regarding a series of recent shootings.
Investigators say the tips led to the eventual arrest of two 17-year-old juveniles. They are both being held at Virginia Beach Juvenile Detention Center without bond.
Since the suspects are juveniles, police say their names will not be released.
Police have not said what charges they will be facing. The shootings in question are:
Nov. 29, 2016 on Skylark Drive
Nov. 30, 2016 on Old Clubhouse Road
Dec. 2, 2016 Homicide on Hawk Avenue
Dec. 2, 2016 on Dory Drive
Dec. 4, 2016 Homicide on Campion Court
Dec. 7, 2016 Dunnbury Court
Dec. 7, 2016 Old Clubhouse Road
Police say 34-year-old Zacarias Aguilar-Ayala was killed in a shooting at the Tapo mobile home park. Christine Bender, 60, was killed Sunday, Dec. 4, died after being shot on Campion Court.
A double shooting on Dec. 7 that left three people injured. Police said the shootings happened five minutes apart. It has not been confirmed if the two shootings on Dec. 7 were connected.
