RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman was hurt when a vehicle crash closed I-40 westbound near Raleigh for about 90 minutes on Sunday evening.
The crash was first reported just after 7 p.m. at mile marker 300, which is Rock Quarry Road. Traffic on I-40 begins to slow at the Jones Sausage Road exit.
A detour was set up, but the road reopened just after 8:30 p.m.
Officials said that there were two wrecks at the scene. In the first crash, a woman who was driving was injured and was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
The second crash happened in traffic caused by the original wreck when a car hit the back of a Raleigh Police cruiser. No one was hurt in that incident.
