ROBBINS, N.C. (WNCN) — Emergency responders braved subfreezing temperatures Saturday night to fight a house fire in northern Moore County.
It was 26 degrees when firefighters arrived on the scene of a house located at 3411 Spies Road with reported heavy smoke coming from the single-story residence around 9:20 PM.
Spies Road was closed to traffic in both directions until 11:15 PM to allow the hose to run across the roadway to keep the fire engines supplied with water.
There were no injuries reported during this incident. The home suffered extensive damage from the fire, smoke and water.
Units with Westmoore Fire Department, Robbins Fire & Rescue, Eagle Springs Fire Department, Seven Lakes Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Fire Marshal Office, and the Moore County Sheriff’s Department responded to the fire.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
