RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A Raleigh man accused of killing his estranged wife in Cary on Friday night made his first court appearance Monday afternoon.
Michele Williams, 51, was shot and killed by her husband, David Sloan Williams, outside a Cary home where she had been living, according to Cary police.
Williams, 55, who surrendered to police later that evening, was denied bond during his court appearance Monday.
During the shooting, police said witnesses reported seeing a man get out of a car and fire shots at one of the townhouses and at a vehicle before driving off.
Michele Williams, who was found dead in a vehicle, was a kindergarten teacher at Timber Drive Elementary in Garner.
Some family members were at David Williams’ court appearance, but they declined to comment.
Williams’ next court appearance is set for Jan. 9 at 9 a.m.
