Cumberland Co. deputies investigate body found in burning vehicle

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a body found in a burning vehicle on Gateway Drive in Fayetteville.

Deputies were called to help firefighters deal with a vehicle fire at about 7:51 p.m., Sgt. Sean Swain of the sheriff’s office said. Once firefighters had the fire under control, a closer inspection of the vehicle revealed a burned body, he said.

Deputies are asking anyone with information about the body to call 911 or the deputies at (910) 323-1500.
