NC man put spikes in road, causing several flat tires, deputies say

CONNELLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WSPA) – A man has been arrested after putting spikes in the road, according to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office says they received multiple reports of spikes in the roadway near the intersection of Icard School Road and Propst Lane in Connelly Springs between December 9 and December 15.

Several people reported having their tires flattened after driving in the area and detectives were able to link the incidents to 30-year-old Kurtis Todd Parker, officials said.

Detectives searched Parker’s home and car, and items matching the ones thrown in the roadway were seized.

Parker of 3100 Icard School Road in Connelly Springs was charged with Injury to personal property and littering.

He was held on an $18,000 secured bond.
